Important changes from 1 July 2026
From 1 July 2026, parking meters will be discontinued; fees are payable via mobile parking only. Hourly rates and surcharges will also increase.
IMPORTANT CHANGES FROM 1 JULY 2026
Dear Driver,
Pursuant to the decision by General Assembly of Budapest as of July 1, 2026, purchasing parking tickets from parking meters will be discontinued. From July 1, 2026, it is no longer possible to buy a parking ticket from the vending machines. Parking fees can only be paid via mobile parking. The parking meters will be removed in the near future.
Further changes pursuant to the decree:
"The amount of the hourly parking fee payable in parking zones for passenger cars, three- or four-wheeled motorcycles, three- or four-wheeled mopeds, trailers or caravans towed by passenger cars, and goods vehicles with a maximum permissible gross weight not exceeding 3,500 kilograms shall be as follows:
a) in 'A' parking zones: HUF 800/hour,
b) in 'B' parking zones: HUF 600/hour,
c) in 'C' parking zones: HUF 400/hour,
d) in 'D' parking zones: HUF 300/hour."
The amount of the surcharges:
If paid within 15 calendar days: HUF 13,600
If paid after 15 calendar days: HUF 32,800.
